Famous Singer Shwekey in Israel, Returning to Sephardic Roots

Famous Hassidic singer Yaakov Shwekey speaks about music, performances, a new album dedicated to Sephardic music, and activity for special-ed kids.

Famous Hassidic singer Yaakov Shwekey arrived in Israel for two days of concerts, in Jerusalem and in Rechovot. leaving for the airport right after the birth of his fourth child-a boy.  Israel National News TV met Shwekey after his Jerusalem concert and spoke with him about his music, the performances, his new album dedicated to Sephardic music, and his wife's and his activities for special-ed children.




The interview was hosted by the Papagaio restaurant in Jerusalem.
 
Shwekey found time on his short trip to visit Yeshivat Merkaz HaRav Kook, the flagship religious Zionist yeshiva in Jerusalem, and meet its Dean, Rabbi Yakov Shapria, shlita.
