An Arab who is suspected of stabbing a woman at Gush Etzion Junction was arrested July 15 in a joint operation by the IDF, the Border Police and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) at the Deheishe refugee camp near Ramallah. The gag order over the arrest was lifted Wednesday.

The suspect is named Muhammad Abed Auda. He is suspected of stabbing a 22 year old woman from Karnei Shomron on December 12 and causing her light-to-serious wounds. She had been waiting for a bus at the junction when he approached her from behind and stabbed her in the back. He then escaped from the scene of the attack.

IDF forces combed the area at the time but failed to find the suspect. Auda was arrested seven months later, based on intelligence data.
