President Shimon Peres greeted 234 new Israeli citizens at a ceremony welcoming this summer’s second chartered Aliyah flight organized by Nefesh B’Nefesh and the Jewish Agency.

On board the flight, which was sponsored by the Friends of the IDF (FIDF), were 85 youths who are about to be drafted into the IDF as soldiers, the largest number of soldiers ever to arrive on a chartered Aliyah flight from North America. A total of 450 Olim soldiers are expected to arrive this summer, many of whom are members of the Garin Tzabar program. A Torah Scroll was also on board.

In the following video, Nefesh B'Nefesh's Dudy Starck speaks with new Olim minutes after they landed in Israel, and famous Israeli singer Rami Kleinstein sings and remembers his days as an immigrant from the U.S.
