Police and soldiers arrived in the Jewish village of Mitzpeh Avichai, outside Hevron, at 2:00 a.m. Thursday to tear down three homes. Officers immediately detained young men who were at the site and took their mobile phones, in order to prevent them from calling in friends to oppose the planned demolition.
The officers then threw furniture and other personal belongings from the homes onto the ground outside, and destroyed the buildings. A resident of the village managed to photograph the process.
Residents of Mitzpeh Avichai reported Thursday that they had begun to rebuild the structures.
