The rain showers that began Thursday will continue until Monday, weather forecasters said Thursday evening. Rainfall is expected throughout the country.

On Friday, a flood warning will be in effect in most parts of Israel. Assuming rains continue, there will be a chance of flooding on Saturday as well.

The rain may be accompanied by hailstorms and strong winds, forecasters warned. In the south, the winds are likely to cause sandstorms.

The sea is expected to be particularly stormy over the weekend. Waves will be 200-600 centimeters in height.

Several Purim events have been postponed or canceled due to the expected rain and winds. Parades that were to take place Friday in Modiin, Ranana and Hadera have been postponed by one week. Events in Givataim and Kfar Saba have been canceled.
