Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon addressed the Seventh Jerusalem Conference on Wednesday.
He explained that the Jewish settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria is not, as is commonly stated, an "obstacle to peace." He reminded his audience that for years before there was even one Jew living in these areas, there were terrorist massacres against Jews - "and certainly no Arab thought of co-existence." The PLO was established in 1964, three years before Israel regained control of Judea and Samaria.
He further mentioned the education to hatred and incitement on the part of the Palestinian Authority, and sharply criticized PA leader Salam Fayyad.
