The Knesset's Interior Committee toured Shimon HaTzaddik neighborhood in eastern Jerusalem Tuesday. The MKs  prayed at the Tomb of Shimon HaTzaddik for the speedy release of Sgt. Gilad Shalit, who is being held cptive by Hamas.

Committee chairman MK David Azoulai (Shas) said during the tour that “we need to reach a situation that allows every Jew to come here and pray safely, without worrying that he could get hit by a rock..” He asked the Jerusalem municipality to clear and prepare a parking lot for visitors near the neighborhood.

In addition, Azoulai demanded the adding of lighting to the neighborhood and a reinforcement of policemen.
