Israel Defense Forces' search rescue teams in Port Au-Prince, Haiti, operated in the wee hours of the night Monday to try and locate survivors of the killer earthquake there.

In the course of the operations, forces from Nicaragua, Russia and Venezuela located two young women under the wreckage. The IDF forces under Col. Dedi Simchi participated in their rescue. After the women received first aid, one of the two was evacuated for additional medical treatment at the Israeli delegation's field hospital.

Tuesday morning, Israel Police forensic experts helped a delegation from Holland identify the bodies of Dutch victims.

The IDF field hospital has thus far taken in about 300 casualties. 90 lifesaving operations have been carried out and five babies were delivered, including two premature births.

The IDF hospital has absorbed medical teams from other countries in its staff. These include eight doctors and nurses from Colombia and nine volunteers from Los Angeles, California. Ten people from British surgical teams were due to join them Tuesday.
