The regional municipal leaders of Judea and Samaria received construction freeze orders from representatives of the IDF on Sunday. Many of the council heads ripped up the orders to express their intentions to ignore the government decision and continue to build. In the following video, Gershon Mesika head of the Samarian Regional Council explains his demonstrative action.

"It's very sad," explained Mesika, "that on the 29th of November [the anniversary of the UN decision to create the State of Israel], the Prime Minister of Israel, who was elected by the nationalist camp based on his clear agenda of building and developing Judea and Samaria, forbids Jews to build in their forefathers' land - while at the same time allowing the Arabs to continue their wild and illegal construction on the lands of the Jewish nation."
