Likud Knesset Member Tzipi Hotobeli said Monday that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told her that the Shalit swap was not a done deal yet. Earlier in the day, at a conversation with the rookie MK at a Likud faction meeting, Netanyahu said that “the dilemma is a deep one [and] there is no deal yet.”

A newspaper identified with Hamas reported that the disagreement between the parties over releasing abducted soldier Shalit now hinges on the name of a single prisoner, whose name it did not give.

The Prime Minister's Office clarified following the report that “the press reports are not based on authority and some are even intentional distortions.”

When the press was still in the room, Netanyahu remained silent, and turned down Coalition Chairman Ze'ev Elkin's suggestion that he give a statement. When a journalist said "you must have something to say about the reports on Shalit," Netanyahu replied in the negative and continued to say nothing (see video).
