Arab media outlets reported Monday night that an explosion had occurred in the home of senior Hizbullah terrorist Abdel Nasser Issa. Issa's home is located in the village of Tayr Filsi in southern Lebanon.

Various news networks gave diverging reports on the number of casualties. Some said that two people were killed, others reported one person wounded, while still others reported that several people were wounded.

It was not immediately clear if Issa was among the wounded or dead. Hizbullah denied rumors that the senior terrorist had been killed in the blast.

Initial reports suggested that Issa may have been the target of assassins. However, other reports suggested that the blast was caused by a mishap involving a weapons cache or unexploded IDF ordnance.

A large explosion was reported in southern Lebanon last summer, in the village of Khirbat Slim. Israel showed evidence that the blast was an exploding Hizbullah weapons cache.
