The unidentified Israeli took the floor to emotionally tout Israel’s public health system as support for U.S. President Barack Obama’s beleaguered health care plan. A woman, who happened to be wearing an IDF shirt and later was identified as Pam Pilger shouted back at him, “Heil Hitler.”
The man, shocked by the epithet, responded several times, “Shame on you!” Pilger countered, "Well, you ought to be the most against President Obama” and mocked him more after he spoke about his large bill for medical care in the U.S.
The incident contradicts a claim that “conservatives have strenuously denied that there is any anti-Semitism on display by anti-health reform protesters at town hall meetings nationwide,” according to the ThinkProgress.com website.
More than 2,000 people packed a local bar to voice their opinions on President Obama’s controversial plan, which most of those in attendance opposed.
"I don't care what they do with this health care bill. It will not pay for abortions. If somebody wants to go out and have wild sex, for the fun of it, then they can pay for the consequences. I'm not going to," Pilger said.
