Thousands of Jews gathered at the Western Wall on Sunday evening for a mass prayer rally, beseeching Heavenly mercies and compassion in the face of a host of threats upon the Jewish People.
The day before a new Jewish month is often known as Yom Kippur Katan, a minor Day of Atonement, and is a time for extra prayers. Sunday was the eve of the month of Tammuz.

While prayers were being cried out at the Western Wall, Jews in Chicago gathered for a rally against the "dangerous demands of President Obama from Israel." The group recited Psalms and then marched through the West Rogers Park neighborhood. Many locals gathered outside their homes to watch, and motorists honked in solidarity with the pro-Israel message.
