Gaza terrorists launched a Kassam rocket attack on southern Israel late Thursday night. The attack was the second in 24 hours.
The missile struck an unidentified area in the western Negev along the Gaza Belt region. There were no reports of injuries or damage.
The attack came hours after Israel Air Force pilots neutralized a explosives-packed building in central Gaza located strategically near the security barrier.
Although the blast was massive, both the IDF and Gaza doctors reported that no casualties resulted because there was no one in the building at the time of the strike.
The bombing came in retaliation for an initial rocket attack on the western Negev’s Eshkol region, timed to coincide with the arrival in Israel of U.S. Middle East envoy George Mitchell.
It has been approximately two weeks since the last round of rocket attacks on southern Israel’s Jewish towns by Gaza terrorists. Last month, a woman and a young girl were lightly wounded.
Egyptian Police Nab Sinai Smugglers
Egyptian police caught two Arab smugglers trying to “import” more than $90,000 in cash into Gaza near the Rafiah border crossing.
Seven other Sinai Bedouin Arabs were also arrested on suspicion of smuggling cash, goods and arms to the Gaza-based Hamas terrorist organization.
There are numerous smuggler tunnels that honeycomb the area, enabling smugglers to transport goods and terrorists from Egypt to Gaza.
