Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has a mission – to warn the world of the danger posed by Iran's nuclear program. In an interview with the United States-based magazine The Atlantic, Netanyahu warned that if the world does not take action, Israel may be forced to attack Iran's nuclear facilities.

A nuclear Iran would endanger not only Israel, but the entire world, Netanyahu warned. “When the wide-eyed believer gets hold of the reins of power and the weapons of mass death, then the entire world should start worrying, and that is what is happening in Iran,” he said, referring to Iran's extremist Shiite Muslim leadership.

Netanyahu did not directly say that Iran would stage a nuclear attack on Israel regardless of the consequences, but pointed out that Iran had sacrificed over one million lives in order to wage war on Iraq. The massive loss “didn't sear a terrible wound into the Iranian consciousness,” he remarked.

"You see a country that glorifies blood and death, including its own self-immolation,” he said.

Israeli intelligence experts have warned that Iran is on the verge of nuclear capability. The country is currently manufacturing enriched uranium, and has recently conducted tests of long-range missiles.

United States officials disagree, and say Iran has not yet reached the “threshold” at which nuclear capabilities are almost guaranteed.

Netanyahu argued that U.S. President Barack Obama should make stopping Iran's nuclear program his top overseas priority. If Iran were to gain nuclear capability, its ability to support terrorists worldwide and threaten global oil supplies would grow tremendously, he warned, and Arab countries that currently maintain positive relations with the U.S. could be frightened into taking a more anti-West stance.
