
Gaza terrorists also increased their rocket range on Tuesday morning, striking the city of Gedera for the first time. Gedera, located five miles south of Rehovot, is barely a five-minute ride away, and is 10 miles north of Kiryat Malachi. A three-month old baby was wounded by shattering glass at about 9:00 a.m. as the Grad-type Katyusha rocket scored a direct hit on the house in which she lives.
Several minutes before noon, two Grad rockets landed in open areas on the outskirts of Be'er Sheva, the "capital of the Negev." No one was injured and no damage was reported. The city was struck by two missiles on Monday as well, but had enjoyed a brief respite over the weekend, with no attacks on Saturday or Sunday.
Two missiles launched by Gaza terrorists also landed in the area of Kibbutz Ashot Negev late in the morning. Another pair landed in the Sha'ar HaNegev region. Four other landings were reported in the Eshkol region as well. There were no reports of injuries or damage in any of the attacks.
Earlier in the morning, two rockets exploded in separate attacks in the Eshkol region and in Netivot. Two additional rockets exploded in the Eshkol region after the attack on Gedera. There were no reports of injuries or damage.
At least 40 Grad and Kassam rockets exploded in southern Israel on Monday. Two people were wounded in a mortar attack that struck the Sha'ar HaNegev region.
