We wonder what would have happened if you did not save him. There would be one less generation of kids. Thanks for everything that you did.Forty fifth-grade students at the Solomon Schechter School of Nassau County, New York expressed their thanks to Sandra Samuel, the Indian nanny of Moshe Holtzberg whose parents were murdered in Mumbai’s Chabad House two weeks ago.
“Dear Sandra, thank you for saving Moshe.” That was fifth grader Daniel Aaronson's message to Sandra. Daniel’s classmates joined him in expressing their thanks. The letters were subsequently read at the Israeli Consulate in New York and will be brought to Israel.
In the letters, the students thanked Sandra for her bravery and showed their appreciation. Jennifer Lipman, another classmate, added, “Everyone in the school thinks that you are a hero. We wonder what would have happened if you did not save him. There would be one less generation of kids. Thanks for everything that you did.”
David Sernega, consul for media and public affairs at the consulate, praised Daniel and Jennifer for expressing their appreciation. “The appropriate method in giving thanks as the State of Israel is to receive it from within our community, as we have done. Sandra Samuel did the correct and courageous act when she saved Moshe. Her conduct exemplified that the value of a person’s life does not depend on religion or ethnic background.”
