(IsraelNN.com) Israeli Arab terrorist Tagrid Saadi is running for the Sakhnin city council, and analysts say she has a good chance of being elected. Saadi, 25, is sixth on the list led by Sakhnin's current mayor, Mohammed Bashir. She served six years in prison for helping a suicide bomber to murder six Israelis. She was released from jail in January of this year and greeted by festivities in her hometown.

Saadi was convicted in 2002 of helping a female suicide bomber get to Haifa. The bomber then traveled to Jerusalem, where she attacked the Mahane Yehuda market, murdering six and wounding dozens more. Saadi knew exactly where and when the attack was to take place but did nothing to stop it.

At her trial, it became clear that Saadi had been in contact with terrorists for some time. She spoke with them online, and was asked to provide assistance in various ways, such as recruiting Muslim women to act as suicide bombers and providing information on crowded areas that could be targeted in attacks.

Saadi said that the positive reaction to her release from prison within her community led to her decision to enter politics. “I have experience. I've proven that I can handle responsibility,” she explained.
