Shortly after the IDF’s Givati Brigade concluded operations in Gaza on Friday in which they located and confiscated eight rocket launchers, Hamas fired two Kassam rockets from Gaza toward Israeli towns in the western Negev, claiming official responsibility.

The two rockets landed in an open area and on a highway intersection, causing no injuries. The Islamist terror group, which controls Gaza, issued an official statement Friday saying the rockets were a “warning to the enemy.”

Another rocket was fired Saturday night - also landing in an open area.

On Sunday, Islamic Jihad fired five more rockets, one of which heavily damaged a building under construction at the Sapir Regional College near Sderot. No injuries were reported.

Since Hamas took over Gaza, Islamic Jihad has claimed responsibility for most rocket-launches – though they were carried out with coordination with Hamas, as in the case Sunday morning.

The IDF’s Givati Brigade concluded anti-terror operations in Gaza earlier Friday after locating and confiscating eight rocket launchers in the fields and orchards of Beit Hanoun, one of them loaded with a rocket. All the launchers were connected to stopwatches used as timers.
