Hamas to Informants: We Know Who You Are

Hamas, having recently captured Fatah offices and documents in Gaza, says it now has information proving that Fatah leaders collaborated with Israel.

Senior Hamas man Halil Al-Haya announced on Friday that documents and cassettes found in Fatah security headquarters prove that Fatah's intelligence and security arms collaborated with Israel against Hamas. "We have much dangerous information that we found in Fatah offices," Al Haya said, "which show that information about Palestinians and Arab and Islamic nations was given to Israeli and American intelligence agencies."

Nervous About Fatah's Acceptance

In addition, Hamas is not happy about the summit planned for Monday with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Abu Mazen  [aka PA chairman and Fatah chief Mahmoud Abbas], Jordan's King Abdullah and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Hamas feels it is an indication of the increasing international recognition of the Fatah government and the isolation of Hamas.

"What is needed now is a Palestinian-Palestinian summit," Hamas spokesman Mushir Al-Masri told Islam On-line, "and not a Zionist-Palestinian surrender summit... The Zionist enemy will not present any peace horizon... The summit will harm Palestinian rights and its nationalist principles... The timing of the upcoming summit proves that it is just an attempt to bring a siege upon the Palestinian nation in Gaza... and bring an end to the resistance being led by Hamas."

Hamas has made it its goal to destroy the State of Israel and replace it with another Islamic country.

At the summit, Abu Mazen is expected to ask Olmert for more concessions, such as the release of hundreds of prisoners, the removal of checkpoints in Judea and Samaria, and progress towards a PA state in Judea and Samaria, claiming that these will strengthen him in the ongoing fight with Hamas.

Documents Hand-Written by Dahlan

Hamas spokesman Al-Haya showed reporters documents he claimed were hand-written by Fatah strongman Muhammed Dahlan indicating that Israel had transferred weapons to what he called the "traitorous stream" of Fatah. The papers were written during a meeting with Fatah chief Abu Mazen and Olmert. Hamas also claims to know where the weapons that were to be used against Hamas are hidden.

Another Hamas spokesman said at the same press conference that the names of Israeli Mossad agents, "people close to Abu Mazen," would be publicized "at the appropriate time."
