Mortar shells were fired at the Erez Crossing with Gaza Sunday - injuring four IDF soldiers, one moderately. Hamas took credit for the attack.

A Kassam rocket hit the hothouses of the town of Netiv HaAsara. Nine Kassam rockets were fired at Israel from Gaza over the weekend. One struck a home in Sderot Saturday, but caused no injuries.

IDF troops killed a Fatah terrorist near Jenin Sunday. Mohammed Amin Farhati, 22, opened fire on soldiers and was shot dead. PA reports say he was in charge of coordinating between Fatah’s Al-Aksa Brigades and Islamic Jihad.



A PA Arab was arrested trying to cross through a checkpoint near Shechem with an eight-inch concealed knife.



Four wanted terrorists were arrested overnight in Judea and Samaria – three from Fatah’s Tanzim group and one from Hamas.



IDF soldiers were attacked by a mob in Kalkilya early Sunday morning, but no injuires or damage were reported.



Saturday night, IDF troops killed two armed terrorists in Shechem. The IDF also blew up stone and concrete barricades that had been built to prevent troops from reaching parts of the PA-assigned town.



Earlier Saturday, undercover troops opened fire on an armed terrorist in Shechem’s Casbah market, killing him.



Friday, two Arab youth, aged 11 and 13, approaching the Gaza security fence from the destroyed Jewish town of Dugit, were shot dead after ignoring IDF calls to stop. They were accompanied by a 16-year-old, who was moderately wounded and brought to Ashkelon’s Barzilai Medical Center for treatment.



The IDF has reported numerous incidents in which children or teenagers were given money to approach the fence in order to test the IDF’s alertness in preparation for the implementation of a real attack.



A senior Islamic Jihad terrorist, Fadi Abu-Mustafa, was killed in an air strike while riding a motorcycle in Khan Younis earlier Friday.



“Mustafa was involved in terrorist activity against Israel since 2003,” an IDF statement said. “Between the years 2004-2005, Fadi Abu Mustafa functioned as the head of the Islamic Jihad in the region of Khan Yunis. He was involved in dozens of shooting attacks, planting bombs and additional attacks.”



The IDF said Mustafa was also involved in recruiting Arab-Israeli terror cells and that in June, 2005, Mustafa dispatched a suicide bomber to an Israeli community in Gush Katif. That attack was thwarted. After the Disengagement, Mustafa was involved in cross-border attacks on IDF patrols and training suicide bombers.
