Israel's border with Syria in the Golan
Israel returned a Syrian infiltrator to his country Saturday after the man was arrested Friday sneaking into Israel illegally via the Golan Heights.

Security forces were alerted to the infiltration Friday near the community of Alonei HaBashan and went on high alert. The man was apprehended shortly thereafter following a tip from an alert resident. He was not found to be carrying any weapons at the time of his capture.

The 24-year-old told investigators that he entered Israel to seek medical treatment unavailable in Syria.

Police said they do not believe the man intended to carry out a terror attack. He was handed back to Syrian police via the Kuneitra Crossing accompanied by members of the International Red Cross Saturday.

Saudi Also Caught Infiltrating
A Saudi Arabian national was also apprehended trying to infiltrate Israel over the weekend, according to Egyptian police.

Police say they caught the man trying to cross a barbed-wire border fence between Sinai and the Negev desert Friday night.

The 32-year-old, named Abdul Waddad Abdul Alim al-Doussari, was apprehended in the Ras al-Naqab region.

The man gave suspicious answers to interrogators' questions, such as claiming that he was on his way to the port-city of Nuweiba, dozens of miles south of his crossing-attempt.
