Human cases of bird flu continue to be reported in Egypt, raising fears in Israel due to the open border between Gaza and Egypt.
A third child tested positive for the H5N1 strain of Avian Flu in Egypt this week, bringing the total human cases there to 32.
The four-year-old girl who tested positive was from the Kalyouba province, just north of Cairo. The other two stricken children were a four year old boy from Kena province and a seven year boy from Sohag province.
The two were hospitalized Thursday and the girl was brought to the hospital Friday. They all suffered from high fevers and were treated with the drug Tamiflu.
Egypt has the highest number of human bird flu cases in the Middle East, with thirteen casualties so far.
Israel culled tens of thousands of birds last year when cases of H5N1 were found among poultry in southern Israel, reportedly infected via Gaza.
