(IsraelNN.com) Pinchas Wallerstein, who heads the Benjamin Regional Council in Samaria, told Arutz-7 on Saturday night that he will continue efforts towards the reopening of the Atarot-Adam Road which connects the northern Jerusalem industrial area to the community of Adam in Samaria.

Wallerstein decried the IDF decision to close the road due to mounting security concerns, explaining that without a viable alternate, the move will negatively impact the livelihood of many, including residents of the communities of Adam, Beit El and Ofra.

The veteran Yesha leader maintains the army can effectively protect motorists on the road and regulate Arab traffic without resulting to the ban on Jewish motorists.

He also warned the move will result in additional de facto loss of Israeli sovereignty over the capital, since closing the route will prevent Jews from reaching the already troubled Atarot Industrial Park in the northern capital.
