MKs Livnat, Sa´ar and Katz Call on Sharon to Commit to the Likud

(IsraelNN.com) (IsraelNN.com) The coalition whip, Knesset Member Gideon Sa'ar, Agriculture Minister Yisrael Katz and Education Minister Limor Livnat are calling upon Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to make a pubic commitment to remain in the Likud party, whatever the results of the primaries may be.

MKs Katz and Sa'ar will make their demand of Mr. Sharon this afternoon. Should the prime minister refuse to make a commitment to his party, then the two are considering supporting early primaries, which are to be decided at Sunday's Likud Central Committee meeting. As of now, the candidates for party head appear to be Ariel Sharon, Binyamin Netanyahu, Uzi Landau and Moshe Feiglin.

By their recent statements, MKs Sa'ar and Katz join Minister of Education Limor Livnat, who has already called upon Sharon to remain in the Likud regardless of the outcome of the primaries.
