(IsraelNN.com) The European Union (EU) has announced it will exempt from import duties goods that are made by joint Jordanian-Israeli ventures. The EU said it would consider extending the exemptions to Israeli products manufactured with Egypt and with the Palestinian Authority (PA).
The exemptions will be a boost for the Delta Textile Marketing and Tefrom companies which produce in Jordan and Israel. A similar break for Israel-PA products is not expected in the near future because it would require Israel to recognize the PA as an independent entity.
