MK Kathrin Shitrit (Likud) intends to submit a draft proposal that will remove all references to May 1 as "Workers' Day" in Israeli law.
"In modern, liberal Israel, there is no place for mention of days that were celebrated by murderous totalitarian regimes, both Nazi and Communist," Shitrit said. "We should no longer allow people to hoist the red flag."
