'If there is no past, there is no future'

Ultra-orthodox Knesset member Uri Maklev spoke on Memorial Day in a special Knesset session as follows: "If there is no past, there is no future. Memory is the foundation of continuity, an expression of gratitude, of honor, and of consolation that we give to the fallen."
