Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon (Likud), with the approval of the Governor of the Bank of Israel, have authorized a plan to distribute a special grant amounting to NIS 6 billion, which will be given to employers in order to enable them to maintain their existing workforce and also to hire new workers.

A comprehensive model will be drawn up in coming days regarding the implementation of the plan.

Also in coming days, the Knesset will be asked to vote on broadening the scope of the grant already decided on, and to increase the sum allocated beyond the 80 billion shekels already authorized. The provisions of this grant also include those encouraging employers to maintain and expand the number of employees they hire.

This is in addition to a sum allocated as a state-guaranteed loan fund for large businesses, to the amount of six billion shekels. The fund will begin operating immediately after Independence Day.
