Labor leader Amir Peretz and senior Labor official Itzik Shmuli both support joining the government, but prominent Labor MK Merav Michaeli has stated her vehement opposition to the move on multiple occasions, calling on the party's members to stymie the attempts of the party's leaders to "commit political suicide."
