The Governor of the Bank of Israel participated last weekend in the bi-monthly meeting of the world's leading central bank governors, members of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), which was held for the first time online in light of the coronavirus crisis.

The Bank of Israel said that at the meeting, the governors reported on the situation in their countries and on the policy measures taken to calm the crisis and maintain the stability of the economies.

In addition, brainstorming on additional policy steps required to restore economies at both state and international levels was held. The meeting was chaired by U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
