A new research study being conducted at Ichilov hospital in Tel Aviv is to investigate the possible role of one of the component parts of the cannabis plant in treating coronavirus patients.
It is speculated that one of the substances in the cannabis plant could reduce the likelihood of a cytokine storm in patients in serious condition. A cytokine storm is essentially an overreaction of the immune system which in itself harms the patient when the inflammatory response damages the body's own cells.
