The heads of the Association for Businesses and the Manufacturer's Association have launched a campaign designed to pressure the prime minister to provide urgent funding for the business sector, in order to ensure that a large number of citizens do not lose their livelihoods.
"The state has no plan to provide genuine assistance to the business sector," they said in a statement. "In comparison with the aid provided by other countries, what the state is offering [is shameful] and should not have been published [out of embarrassment]. The coronavirus crisis is a financial crisis the likes of which we haven't seen for a generation, and the prime minister should dig his hand into his pocket and give the business sector what it needs to recover."
