AFP: More than 160,000 people have died so far from coronavirus around the world.

Europe is considered the worst casualty of the virus, with 101,398 deaths. Four of the five countries with the highest number are from this continent.

But the U.S. leads in coronavirus deaths, with close to 40,000 dead. However, White House Coronavirus Taskforce member Dr. Deborah Birx has admitted the U.S. utilizes "liberal" criteria in diagnosing coronavirus deaths, raising concerns that U.S. coronavirus mortality numbers may be inflated.
