An investigation by The Associated Press published today found senior Chinese officials waited six days after determining they were facing a coronavirus pandemic before president Xi Jinping finally warned the public on January 20, The Telegraph reports.
Eight days later, the director-general of the WHO praised China's response to the outbreak, including its "openness to sharing information" at a meeting with president Xi Jinping on January 28.
