During yesterday's Jewish festival (the seventh day of Passover), around 100 cherry trees were uprooted, trees that had been planted just three weeks ago on Kibbutz Kfar Etzion.

Yaron Rosental, a member of the kibbutz and the kibbutz's director of the economy, said that the fence around the kibbutz was breached and a trail of footsteps led to the nearby village of Beit Ummar. "We have been building and planting here for the last 80 years," he said, "planting trees and bringing light and goodness to the region. A number of our neighbors prefer to uproot and bring darkness."
