Rabbi of Tel Aviv Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau delivered a eulogy by telephone at the funeral of Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi Doron,
"A very difficult day."
Rabbi Lau told of the time he served as chief rabbi with Rabbi Bakshi Doron, "We stood as a fortified wall, we helped one another, we went through difficult years including the murder of Rabin, violent from every side. It was very hard."
