Former Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau spoke in an interview on Reshet Bet about Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi Doron, who died of the coronavirus last night.
"He had an interesting personality, had solid opinions and was determined. Alongside his greatness in the Torah, he had the daring and courage. He knew the people and the public," said Rabbi Lau. He also addressed the spread of the coronavirus: "This is the first time that this enemy is universal, and not visible. It has largely united humanity and brought many extremes closer against an invisible enemy, which I hope can be conquered."
