MK Ayelet Shaked (Yamina) welcomed the Supreme Court's decision not to intervene in the matter of deciding who should receive the mandate to form a government.

"Judge Stein did well in rejecting this petition," she said. "But it's appropriate to note that the Supreme Court does not have the right to insert its opinion regarding a decision made by the President. Therefore, if the President decides to pass the mandate to Netanyahu, the Supreme Court does not have the authority to get involved in the matter. This is not a matter of legal process - it's politics."
