Aviv Kochavi, IDF Chief of Staff, is currently in Bnei Brak, touring the city together with the commander of the Home Front, General Tamir Yadei, the head of the fire brigade, Brigadier-General Yaron Finkelman, and other senior officers.
He was shown what the Home Front and fire brigade are doing to enforce the lockdown in the city, and the efforts being made to ease the situation for the city's residents, including meal packing and distribution by soldiers.
Kochavi noted that, "At this time, the expression we use: 'The people's army,' is particularly apt. We are all working together to save lives and show concern for each other's welfare. We will continue to expand the aid we are providing to localities across the country, wherever we are needed. I am proud of the IDF's swift and efficient response to the crisis."
