State President Reuven Rivlin today spoke with Health Minister Yaakov Litzman and the Prime Minister's Office regarding evacuating the elderly and nursing patients, including Holocaust survivors, from the mental health departments across the country.
The Health Ministry adopted a decision in favor of hospitalizing coronavirus patients. The President emphasized in his talks that in his view, the decision should be reconsidered, since it is the elderly, the sick, the Holocaust survivors, the founders of the country, whose displacement could be a difficult and unbearable jolt for them. The President also requested that even if the decision was made, the Health Minister would reconsider its implementation.
