Bnei Brak Mayor Avraham Rubinstein in a Kan News interview addressed news of the mass funeral in the city last night contrary to Health Ministry instructions.
"I spoke to the family representative and explained the severity of this, I don't have too much to do. The municipality cannot take responsibility for such an event. The public understands alone. The police decided to act the way they did and they probably have reasons.
"Most of our public isn't exposed to the Internet and doesn't hear radio. I have the phones of almost all the residents of the city and I call them, there are leaflets on the streets and letters of the rabbis. We follow the instructions. It's dramatic to close synagogues, and all the synagogues and mikvas are closed.
"We are calling on all government ministries to give proper places to patients. Right now the situation is not so good. All the families in isolation are infecting one another. I heard in the media that I need to be in isolation; no one informed me and so it is with the majority of the public," he said.
