MDA will collect plasma from recovered coronavirus patients to provide infusion therapy for the severely ill.
These infusions will provide patients with "passive resistance" that may help them cope with the disease.
MDA states that plasma has been used in the past, for example in the treatment of SARS patients during the outbreak in 2002 and in Israel similar treatment has been given to patients in the West Nile fever. This week, the FDA approved a similar protocol in the U.S.
