German Chancellor Angela Merkel held a press conference Monday during which she asserted that "up to 70%" of all Germans may get infected with the coronavirus. She ordered the shutdown of all restaurants, bars, museums, theaters, and other mainstay local institutions including "brothels." She also announced the country would seal its borders with neighboring Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, France, and Luxemburg. Over 8,600 and more than 20 deaths have been reported in Germany as of Tuesday, March 17th, 2020.
