A respiratory intensive care unit for coronavirus patients was established this week within 48 hours at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.
The unit's six ICU beds will operate with the option of connecting a patient to a heart and lung (ECMO) device. The unit is located in the old hospital building - separate from all regular hospital wards and the hospital states that fortunately it is not yet needed.
