The Movement for Quality Government has petitioned the Supreme Court to order Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein to convene the plenum and begin the work of the Knesset committees immediately.
Using biblical language to describe Edelstein's refusal to do that or hold a vote on the position of speaker, chairman of the movement Eliad Shraga said, "This is a black day for democracy in Israel. The speaker of the Knesset is desecrating the Knesset building, clinging to the horns of the altar and refusing to vacate his place."
