Hundreds of coronavirus testing kits for identifying individuals who've contracted the virus were passed to Gaza along with medical protection equipment.

The World Health Organization (WHO) oversaw the humanitarion mission.

The coordinator of the project, Brigadier General Iyad Sarhan, said that "the director of coordination and liaison with the Gaza Strip will continue to work with the international organizations and the Ministry of Health, with an aim at curbing the spread of COVID-19 in Gaza."

The head of the Civilian Department of the Civil Aviation Service, Brigadier General Sharon Biton, added: "The equipment was transported through an unusual procedure through the Erez crossing as part of the integration of the operational arms of the security systems and international organizations in the fight to curb the spread of the virus...we will continue and assist with the important humanitarian mission."
