The Ministry of Welfare and Social Services will be distributing food to the homes of some 70,000 needy seniors starting this Sunday, the Yedioth Aharonot newspaper reports.
According to the report, the ministry will use the Ministry of Education's food facilities in the schools for this purpose, since they are not operational these days as schools have been shut down. The goal of the project is to provide seniors in need of nutritional support during the coronavirus epidemic, while at the same time preventing them from leaving their homes, which could put them at risk, as a vulnerable population.
