In light of the coronavirus emergency, Member of Knesset Uri Maklev (United Torah Judaism) wrote to Justice Minister Amir Ohana on Monday, asking him to act to suspend the restriction of bank accounts due to the resulting cash flow problems.

Maklev noted, "Due to the corona epidemic, tens of thousands of business owners have been severely restricted, including closing business, reducing activity, business owners and employees going into isolation." He added, "Business owners such as event halls, restaurants and the like, have paid suppliers and service providers with deferred checks, with the revenue during this period being intended to cover the checks," but due to the closure of businesses, there has been no revenue, the checks given to suppliers have not been honored for lack of cash to cover them, and the business owners were left in a serious crisis. "In addition to them," Maklev wrote, "tens of thousands of citizens were put in home isolation for a long period, during which their income was harmed."
