Ramon Airport near Eilat has received its first shipment of equipment meant to bolster Israel's preparedness for military or civilian emergencies of any kind. After careful planning for many months, this is a breakthrough event since such shipments had previously been sent to Ben Gurion Airport. The equipment in the current shipment was flown directly from JFK Airport in New York. Dozens of tons of material, including military vehicles, were shipped.
